Taking to Instagram, Stacey shared a picture of herself and wrote about how the incident affected her.

She said: “Ok so my faith in humanity was dented today when I went to a salon to get a facial where I was told… ‘you should start having Botox and fillers now before it’s too late.’

“How on Earth are young girls supposed to be confident and happy in their own skin when it’s being fed to them (in professional health and wellness clinics) that they need to prevent ageing using Botox and fillers before it’s too late (AT THE RIPE OLD AGE OF 28!!!!!!) my goodness.

“I felt 10 years older walking out than I did walking in just because of that comment.

“I believe that people should do whatever makes them happy, if you want fillers and Botox there’s nothing wrong with that, but I don’t agree with it being pushed down your throat by people in that industry scaremongering and making the perfectly natural ageing process feel like a disease.

“Anyone out there if you fancy my penny’s worth the best anti ageing you can do is look after your health and well-being. Anyway rant over lots of love “. (sic)

The mum-of-two also spoke about the incident on today’s Loose Women telling her fellow panellists: “I walked into that salon perfectly happy with myself, I left feeling 170!”

Stacey is known for being body positive and speaks openly about a range of topics on the ITV show.

Last month, Stacey said she was looking forward to embracing her “fuzz” and said her boyfriend Joe Swash “loves the fur”.

She continued: “I don’t shave my legs. I’d rather just wear trousers. If [hair] is there, why should I have to shave it off?…
