A MUM is believed to be the first in Britain to have identical twins in different years.
Michelle Sandy, 32, gave birth to Aliya Grace at 11.40pm on December 31.

But sister Lyarna Rose arrived 23 minutes later — at 12.03am on January 1.
Proud dad Dan Appleton said: “Apparently it has only ever happened before in the US.”
The girls — both 4lb 8oz — were seven weeks premature.
Cleaner Michelle, who was induced at Princess Anne Hospital in Southampton, said: “We were joking, ‘What if one comes on one side of midnight and one comes on the other?’

“I had Aliya, but that didn’t give much time to get the next one out before midnight.”
Maintenance worker Dan, 26, added: “Everyone said Happy New Year, then doctors said, ‘You need to start pushing because the next one is coming’.”
“They didn’t know whether to congratulate us for having healthy babies or for having one for each year.
“Once the team made sure both were healthy, a doctor actually Googled it, and apparently it’s only ever happened before in the US.”
