THIS year marks the 90th birthday of Mickey Mouse – but amazingly, the lovable rodent still doesn’t have his own themed ride at Disney World.
That’s all about to change, with the introduction of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Hollywood Studios.
Disney A new ride called Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is coming at Hollywood Studios in Florida
The attraction, which will replace The Great Movie Ride at the replica of the Chinese Theater, will put visitors inside the wacky and unpredictable world of a Mickey Mouse cartoon short.
On the Runaway Railway, guests will step through the movie screen to join Mickey, Minnie and their friends.
On the ride, guests are the star of the show – where they are made to feel like anything can happen, with surprising twists and turns, and visual effects.
The attraction is inspired by the Mickey Shorts that you can see on the Disney Channel, and the ride engineers are working with the Disney Television Animation department to make it as realistic as possible.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will feature a new story and a new sing-long theme song as well as a “2 1/2 D” experience, which Walt Disney Imagineer Kevin Rafferty says will turn the flat world of a colourful cartoon short into a “dimensional display of amazingness”.
He added: “This is one of the boldest…most impossible things I’ve ever worked on in almost 40 years of being an Imagineer.
“This is not going to be a small attraction, it’s going to be game-changing.”
The new Mickey and Minnie ride isn’t the only new ride coming to the park soon.

When Toy Story Land opens this summer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests will shrink to the size of a toy.
Giant Jenga sets and Woody figures are dotted around the new site, to make guests feel tiny.
Two of the rides already plotted for Toy Story Land include the Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers.

The Slinky Dog Dash is a family roller-coaster themed as if Andy had used his Mega Coaster Play Kit to build the ultimate coaster for Slinky.
The land’s other major attraction, Alien Swirling Saucers, has been designed as a toy play set that Andy got from Pizza Planet.
At Woody’s Lunch Box, Andy’s lunch box and thermos have been used to create a walk-up quick-service window that will serve up American food and old-fashioned soda floats.
Next year, is the big one for Star Wars fans though.

Disney’s new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge theme parks are due to open in 2019 in both California and Florida.
The mini theme parks, which are currently under construction, will transport guests to a never-before-seen planet – a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.
Disney/Star Wars There will be a presence of the First Order and the Resistance just walking around the streets, involving guests in smaller experiences away from the rides
The village was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes, but the prominence of the outpost has been bypassed with the rise of hyperspace travel and has become a thriving port for smugglers, rogue traders and adventurers.
Here, guests will find themselves in the middle of the action at two signature attractions, one of which lets guests take the controls of Millennium Falcon on a customised secret mission.
