A REDDIT user has released an image claiming to show the exact proportions of the ingredients in your jar of Nutella – and if he’s right, you might be shocked by the amount of sugar.
The picture shows a glass jar, which would usually be full of Nutella, packed with the individual ingredients: palm oil, skim milk powder, cocoa, hazelnuts and sugar.
Reddit/MrFlow Reddit user MrFlow uploaded the diagram which claimed to show the proportions of the ingredients inside the jar
Each of the layers reportedly contains the proportion of each ingredient in a jar of the popular spread and it is almost half filled with sugar.
User MrFlow uploaded the image to Reddit this week and it has already been upvoted 28,700 times.
The Sun Online contacted Nutella, which is made by Ferrero, for comment but they didn’t confirm the amounts of each ingredient in the jars.
A spokesperson said: “We don’t disclose the full proportions of the ingredients in Nutella as our recipe is unique and we wish to safeguard this.
“The product’s label provides simple and clear nutritional information per 15g portion, or two heaped teaspoons, as well as per 100g. The ingredients are also listed on the Nutella website.”
