LABOUR grandees today signalled for the first time that sexist MP Jared O’Mara should be permanently kicked out of Labour over his homophobic and misogynistic online comments.
The row over when Labour knew about his web trolling also deepened after Nick Clegg’s wife insisted they must have been aware of it BEFORE he became an MP in June.

Mr O’Mara is currently suspended from the party over a string of offensive remarks he made on the internet over a decade.
Jeremy Corbyn’s close ally Diane Abbott today suggested that she wants the Sheffield Hallam MP to be kicked out for good.
She told Andrew Marr on BBC1: “That language and that tone is not acceptable in 2017, we have now moved on.”
Shadow minister Andrew Gwynne, who led Labour’s election campaign, also slammed Mr O’Mara for his “disgusting” posts.

He told Sky News: “I find those comments absolutely despicable – there is no place in the Labour party for homophobia, for misogyny or for sexism.
“Those views are reprehensible and they have no place in a modern democracy.”
But he added that Labour’s investigation into Mr O’Mara must be allowed to conclude before the MP’s future is decided.
Labour bosses have claimed that they only knew about the allegations a week ago – despite being sent a dossier of claims in September.

Today Miriam Gonzalez Durantez, whose husband Nick Clegg was defeated by Mr O’Mara at the General Election, insisted they must have known before June’s poll.
She told ITV’s Peston on Sunday: “They knew before the election, because my husband knew and even I knew.”
But the high-flying lawyer said Mr Clegg did not want to exploit the allegations while campaigning, saying: “He refused to run a campaign on those negative grounds.”
Mr O’Mara was suspended from Labour on Wednesday after his history of vile web posts was revealed.
He referred to young women as “sexy little slags”, fantasised about sex with Angelina Jolie, used multiple homophobic slurs and referred to Spanish people as “dagos”.

The 35-year-old apologised to his fellow Labour MPs on Monday night and resigned from the Commons women and equalities committee.
But after more recent comments came to light, the party suspended Mr O’Mara pending the results of an investigation.
The MP is also accused of calling a woman an “ugly bitch” when she turned him down after a date.
A spokesman for Labour said today: “Jared O’Mara is suspended pending the outcome of an investigation by the Labour Party.
“Any allegations and new information will be taken into account as part of the investigation. It would not be right to comment further at this time.”
