Models heated up the New York Fashion Week runway yesterday in high-vis orange padded macs, hand-woven woolly balaclavas and silver-foil gloves.

Calvin Klein creative director Raf Simons paid tribute to emergency service heroes with his ‘Survival Chic’ showcase, which was held at the American Stock Exchange.

The bleak set looked like the site of a nuclear fallout. A giant timber structure resembled a ruined building, while popcorn littered the floor like debris.

A model lit up the presentation in a tangerine jumpsuit that featured reflective stripes, chest pockets and white plastic trousers.
