Roma is said to be the “Jewish” club of Italy – with a section of Lazio fans opting to turn that into an horrific taunt.

This is by no means the first time Lazio have been dumped in hot water for anti-Semitic actions.

In January, Lazio were fined £40,000 for displaying anti-Semitic stickers ahead of last October’s derby game – while 13 fans were given lengthy stadium bans.

It’s said supporters indulged in fascist chanting and Nazi salutes while posting images of Frank in a Roma shirt around the Stadio Olimpico.

Ahead of their next game, all players wore T-shirts bearing Frank’s face and the phrase “No to antisemitism” during warm-up.

Her diary was also handed out to mascots before kick-off.

The initial incident prompted a swift reaction, with Lazio’s president Claudio Lotito pledging to send 200 fans to visit Auschwitz every year.

During the game itself, Stefan Radu was sent-off with neither team able to find the back of the net in a 0-0 draw.
